Testing Center
Easy enrollment step #3: assess your current skills. What's next? Getting advised.
Coming to Pierce from another college? Restarting your education? Find out about credit evaluation.
If you plan to take English or math classes, or any class with an English or math prerequisite, you will need to demonstrate that you have met the prerequisites.
If you have not completed the prerequisites at another accredited college or university, an assessment test is required. You cannot "pass" or "fail" the test; it is simply a tool to assist you.
You will take either the ASSET test or the COMPASS test; these tests evaluate your skills in English, reading, and math. Learn more about the ASSET test and the COMPASS test at the ACT Web site.
How do I take the tests?
- Before taking the test, pay the non-refundable $10 fee at the cashier.
- Bring your receipt and photo ID to the testing center.
- Use the Casio FX260 calculators supplied by the testing center. No personal calculators are permitted.
- If you require accommodation for any disability, contact the Access & Disabilities Services office at either campus prior to testing.
