Tuition refunds for students on active military duty
In accordance with Pierce College policy, refund and withdrawal exceptions will be granted to students who must withdraw from classes due to military duty assignment.
Is it necessary to withdraw?
If appropriate, students may request an Incomplete from their instructor(s) instead of withdrawing from their class(es). Factors such as when a student will be deployed, course requirements, etc. may determine if an Incomplete is feasible. Students should speak with their instructors directly to pursue this option.
How can I submit my withdrawal?
To receive a full tuition refund, students who must withdraw from classes due to military duty assignment after the end of the 100% refund period must submit:
- a completed Schedule Change Form and
- a copy of their military orders.
In person: if you have not yet been deployed, you may take these documents to the registration office at either college. You can also have a friend or family member turn in your documents.
By phone: you may call in your withdrawal to either of the numbers listed below. You will still need to provide a paper copy of your military orders in order to receive a full tuition refund.
By mail or fax: you may withdraw by mailing or faxing both documents to the addresses or fax numbers listed below.
