Current students register first, then former students who are coming back, then new students. You'll receive information in the mail. Registration is usually held at the following times:

  • Fall: late May - late September
  • Winter: mid November - early January
  • Spring: mid March - early April
  • Summer: late May - mid June

Specific registration dates will be posted on the district Web site in the academic calendar, listed in the printed class bulletin, and posted at all campuses.

How do I register?

If you have your SID and Registration Access Code, register online now.

You can fill out a registration form (PDF, 150KB) and mail or fax it to Pierce College (some restrictions apply). You can register in person at either Fort Steilacoom or Puyallup. Some classes and programs require special registration.

  • Continuing Education (CE) classes may require special registration. Visit the CE Web site for more information.
  • You must register in person for Learning Center courses in ABE, ESL, GED and high school completion.

How do I pay for my classes?

Pay online now with Visa or MasterCard through Student Online Services.

You must pay the exact amount at the time of registration. Tuition is based on residency and number of credits. Short-term loans are available. Financial aid is available, including loans, scholarships, and job placement.

If an agency or scholarship is paying your tuitions or fees, contact the Cashier's Office immediately after registering. You must confirm that your payment authorization is on file before you can complete the registration process.

Other methods of payment

  • Check or money order are accepted in person or by mail.
  • Cash is accepted in person only.

Late Registration

You may register for a class without the instructor's signature through the first three days of the instructional quarter. The instructor's signature is required to register for a class on the fourth through the 10th day (eighth day during summer quarter) of the instructional quarter. Specific dates are published each quarter in the class bulletin. Registration after the 10th day (eighth day for summer), with the exception of continuous-entry or late-starting classes, must be petitioned through the registration office.

Changing Your Schedule after Registration

The dates for adding or dropping classes are listed in the class bulletin each quarter. To add or drop a class, complete a Schedule Change Form and submit it to the registration office. If you drop a class by the 10th day of the quarter (eighth day for summer quarter), no record of the class will appear on your transcript. (This day varies if the class does not follow the regular college calendar.)

To drop a class after the 10th day of the quarter (eighth day for summer quarter), you must complete a Schedule Change Form and return it to the registration office. The last day to withdraw is published in the quarterly class bulletin. If you follow this procedure, you will receive a "W" grade for the course. If you do not, you may receive a "0.0" (F) grade.

Official Withdrawal from the College

To officially withdraw from a class(es), obtain a Schedule Change Form from the registration office, complete it, and return it to the registration office by the last day to withdraw. See the quarterly class bulletin for specific dates.

You must initiate the paperwork for all withdrawals. However, if an emergency occurs and you are unable to come to the college, phone-in or faxed withdrawals will be accepted.

Administrative Withdrawal

Pierce College reserves the right to administratively withdraw a student from any English compostition, math or quantitative skills class(es) for which they have not successfully fulfilled the prerequisite. Students will be notified of the withdrawal and further registration options.
