Health Education Center Classes
Whether you want to enhance your cardiovascular endurance, build strength, gain flexibility, or simply have fun, a variety of classes are available each quarter at the Health Education Center to help you meet these and other goals.
Credit classes available during Fall quarter 2009:- Hard Core: A challenging 50-minute core workout using stability balls, free weights, bands, a Bosu ball, and pilates techniques. Offered at 8 am Mondays and Wednesdays.
- Power Pump and Toning: A 50-minute whole body group workout using hand weights, barbells, exercise and Bosu balls, and floor mats. Offered at 1pm Mondays and Wednesdays.
- Beginning Aerobics: A 50-minute low-impact class for all ages and ability levels focusing on building respiratory efficiency, muscular strength and endurance, and joint flexibility. Offered at 1 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Cardio Pump: A 50-minute high-energy cardio workout featuring creative choreography and using hand weights, bands, and floor exercises. Offered at 11am Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Body Conditioning: Specifics are arranged by the instructor, but students participate in one-hour seminars (3 pm) on Sept. 24, Oct. 15, and Dec. 3 with additional participation of at least two hours of exercise per week.
- Hip Hip Dance: A 50-minute high-energy cardio workout with creative urban choreography for solo and group dance. Offered at 10 am Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Zumba: A 50-minute total-body fitness system that incorporates a fusion of high-energy Latin and international music for energy and fun. Offered at 11 am Mondays and Wednesdays.
- Yoga-Pilates: Combine yoga poses and Pilates exercises to build a stronger, leaner body and a quieter mind. Learn how to challenge the body and relax the mind at the same time. Offered at noon Mondays and Wednesdays.
- Introduction to Weight Training: A two day per week exercise class where you will learn basic weight training principles and concepts that will allow you to create a personal workout routine for home and in the gym. Offered at 9 am Mondays and Wednesdays.

- Ballroom Dance
