MIDI Lab

The following courses are offered in the MIDI lab:

Students not enrolled in these courses may use the lab during open hours:

Students using the lab will need to supply their own headphones with 1/4” jacks. Students using the lab to work on projects need to bring in their own CD-RWs to save their work. The staff cannot be responsible for projects that are mistakenly erased or deleted.

About the Lab

Our newly refurbished MIDI lab has 21 brand new Yamaha Pianos and 21 iMac G4 computers. It also has 12 work stations augmented for audio production projects, with six Pro Tools stations and six Digital Performer stations, each with digital audio interfaces (M Boxes and MOTU 828’s) and new Roland XV 2020 Synthesizer modules.

These stations are excellent learning environments for students working on their part-writing assignments in first and second year theory and for practicing related ear-training skills with either Practica Musica ear-training software or with Finale composition software.
