Careers

Project management skills are used in most occupations. The Pierce College Project Management program teaches students to apply industry standards to plan, execute, monitor, control and close a project. These are marketable, high-demand workplace skills that can benefit students seeking to enter a competitive workforce, as well as veteran workers needing to refresh their skills and pursue promotion opportunities.

Project management is a recognized option for students seeking advancement in business, construction management, computer information systems, homeland security, occupational health and safety, and many more fields.

Transfer

Project Management is a professional/technical training program and does not transfer to a four-year college. However, by completing the two courses, you are eligible for the Project Management Certificate, a valuable addition to your resume.

Course Maps

Project management classes are available online and must be taken in sequence. A new sequence starts in the fall and winter quarters only.

The Project Management program has two options: the Pierce long certificate and Pierce short certificate.

  • The long certificate is 28–30-credits and you can complete it in less than one year.
  • The short certificate is a two-class Project Management option.

To start the certificate, students must have earned a 2.0 grade point average or better in Business 105, English 101, or equivalent. You may request advisor or instructor's permission as an alternative.
