The copyrights and/or patents derived from work which an employee is specifically contracted with Pierce College District Eleven to produce as well as copyrights and/or patents derived from a work product which is created by the employee’s use of compensable work time, supplies or other tangible support provided by Pierce College shall become the sole and exclusive property of Pierce College
The copyrights and/or patents derived from work which an employee completes outside of compensable work time or compensable work hours and without the use of supplies or other tangible support provided by the college to create benefits derived from such copyrights and/or patents will be retained exclusively by the employee.
Should an employee wish to share jointly with the college in any copyrights or patents created in conjunction with employment but involving substantial personal contribution, a request shall be made in writing to the Vice President of Administrative Services prior to commencement of any work. If approved, a contract shall be executed delineating the ownership and distribution of any proceeds.

No persons shall make any false statement, certificate, mark, rating, or report with regard to any test, certification, or appointment made under any provision of the Community College Act or rules, or in any manner commit any fraud preventing the impartial execution of the Act or rules.
Any employee or student found to have altered official records through unauthorized signature or access shall be subject to immediate disciplinary action, commensurate with the severity of the offense and in accordance with state law and adopted procedures of the institution.
