5 to 6:30 p.m. Educational Workshop presented by Dave Scott; Nutrition for Peak Performance-Fueling During Training
7 p.m. Spaghetti Dinner with Special Guest Dave Scott

General Nutrition - Presented by Steve Crain

Join Steve Crain for a talk about the latest in nutrition guidelines. Crain will address the most recent dietary recommendations as well as how to incorporate these into your day. Steve Crain will also be available to answer your nutrition questions.

Gait Analysis - Presented by Boris Gladun

Ever wonder how to tell if you are an overpronator (or what the heck that even means)? Join Boris Gladun, physical therapist at MVP Physical Therapy, for a look at some of the basic technique errors commonly displayed by runners. You'll also learn some exercises to correct poor technique and to increase your speed and durability.

Workouts & Heart Rate Training - Presented by Dave Scott

Learn how to evaluate the intensity of training and racing. A Perceived exertion, relative speed, and heart rate will be discussed.

Shoe Selection - Presented by Boris Gladun

Motion control, stability, cushioned, cushioned support, how do those guys in the running store know what shoe is best for you? Boris Gladun will be providing you with the knowledge to understand what these terms mean and how to determine which shoes are best for you.

Fitness Assessments - Presented by Steve Crain

Coming to Pierce College this fall is a new Recreation Center and a new certificate program, the Diagnostic Health and Fitness Technician certificate. Come and check out some of the new equipment that will be in the facility. Steve Crain will be offering basic fitness assessments during this time including: Body Fat Percentage, Flexibility Testing and Muscular Endurance testing (try one or all of these).

Year-round Training and Marker Sets - Presented by Dave Scott

Learn specific sets to evaluate your progression and over load in your workouts. They are designed on a cyclic program which can be inserted into your weekly training routine.

2 p.m.

Injury Prevention / Strength & Stretching - Presented by Dave Scott

Attend this hands-on class to learn and practice exercises which enhance stabilization, balance, and strength for the hips, glutes, lower back, and core.
