Q: How much does a HEC membership cost?

A: The cost of a HEC membership for students is $15 per quarter.

 

Q: Where do I pay my membership fee?

A: All HEC fees must be paid through the cashier’s office.

 

Q: Is there any paperwork that I need to fill out and turn in?

A: A packet and a waiver need to be completed before you start working out.

 

Q: Do I need to show my ID card when I exit and enter the building?

A: For security purposes, we need you to scan your card when you enter and exit the facility.

 

Q: Can I bring a friend or spouse to work out with me?

A: Yes, as long as they are a registered member of the HEC. To become a registered member, they need to sign up for a one-credit PE class. This will give them access to the HEC.

 

Q: Are you open on the weekends?

A: The HEC is open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays and closed on Sundays.

 

Q: Are the PE classes that are held in this building included in the membership fee?

A: No. If you want to take a PE class, you must register for it like any other credit class. However, the membership fee is included in the class fee.

 

Q: Does the HEC have lockers, and can I use them?

A: Yes, we do have lockers. We don’t check them out and they are first come first serve. We also discourage leaving belongings for more than 24 hours.

 

Q: How long does a HEC membership last?

A: HEC memberships last for the entire quarter while attending Pierce College.

 

Q: What are the slowest usage times in the facility?

A: The HEC is less crowded early in the morning (6:30-8 a.m.) and late at night (5-7 p.m.)

 

Q: Are we allowed to use the exercise room or classroom?

A: Yes. As long as a class is not scheduled, you may use the rooms.

 

Q: What is the procedure for staff and faculty to use the faculty?

A: Staff and faculty have two options when registering for the HEC. They can either register for a one-credit PE class, or pay a $60 HEC usage fee for each quarter they want to use the facility.
