The Pioneer

The Pioneer, the student newspaper of Pierce College Fort Steilacoom since 1974, is published every two weeks during fall, winter, and spring quarters and is the heart of the college's journalism program.

Students earn college journalism credits while receiving practical experience in writing and reporting, editing, photography, advertising or desktop publishing. Several grads are now full-time reporters, and numerous students have been placed in internships and part-time employment.

The Puyallup Post

The Puyallup Post is published at Puyallup three times a quarter during fall, winter and spring quarters. The newspaper covers issues on the growing campus to keep students, staff and faculty informed. The Puyallup Post offers numerous opportunities for students to work or volunteer on the newspaper staff.

Student Literary and Arts Magazine (SLAM)

SLAM, the Student Literary and Arts Magazine, is an annual publication dedicated to showcasing the creative abilities of Pierce College district students through stories, poems, essays and works of art. Students also help determine the layout and design of the publication. The annual release date for SLAM occurs in May.

Copies are available free of charge in a variety of college locations.
