Identity Development -
Erikson's model - how are both the need for an identity and the content of identity from both the person's psychology and society? Stage models - what are the advantages of using a stage model for identity, rather than seeing it as something static?
Racial Identity Development:
Example Questions 2. Use the stages of racial identity to identify at least two parts of the poem/story and which stage they may be at. Explain your reasoning.
1a. Identity is an on-going story. Give a realistic example using any part of identity (race, gender, profession. SES, etc.) to show how it is both the set of situations one is presented with, the types of ways people respond to them, and how one chooses amongst those ways to respond. Relate to the stages or types of racial identity that are discussed in the text. 2. Choose one of the models of racial identity, the majority or minority identity model.
