Work Study
Workstudy is a type of financial aid that allows you to earn money to help pay education expenses but is not counted as income on your financial aid eligibility in future years.
What is Workfirst Workstudy?
WorkFirst TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) participants may fulfill their work requirement up to 2 quarters through WorkFirst Work Study. Benefits include flexible work hours, work experience that enhances training, networking opportunities and more income. WorkFirst Work Study earnings don't count against a Temporary Assistance Grant, but do affect Food Assistance.

What is VA Workstudy?
In order to be eligible for Workstudy as a Veteran, you must:
- be a Veteran currently utilizing benefits
- be enrolled for 9-11 credits for part time and at least 12 credits for full time
- your program of study must be approved by the Veterans' Affairs
Once you have been approved for VA Workstudy, the position must involve direct service to veterans. Pierce College has very few positions which meet this requirement, but there are positions in the community which might qualify.
