How to Use the Writers' Center
Sign in
- The Accutrack sign-in computer is near the entrance of the Writers’ Center. You can either scan your student ID card or you can enter your student identification number.
- Next, you will select the category of student you are. The options are CWU Student, International Student, and Non-International Student. Select one.
- Then you will select the activity you are going to use. The options are Computer Use, Quiet Study, and Writing Consultation. Select one.
- Finally, click the ‘Sign-in’ button.
***Please note: if you have already signed in to the Tutoring Center or Adaptive Technology, you will need to sign out first. You can do this at any of the Accutrack sign-in computers, including the one in the Writers’ Center. To sign out, all you need to do is scan your student ID card or enter your student identification number.***
Ask for Help
- After you have signed in, if you would like to have someone give you feedback on a paper or if you wish other assistance, please ask one of the Writers’ Center advisors on duty for help.
- If you merely come in and sit at one of the tables, the staff will assume that you have come to the Writers’ Center for quiet study and will leave you alone.
- For issues with computers, there are frequently tech tutors on duty. Please proceed to the front desk of the Tutoring Center and ask for technical assistance.
Turn off Your Cell Phone
- Out of respect for your fellow students and for the Writers’ Center, please turn off your phone prior to entering.
- If you must make a phone call, please do so out in the hallway at a low volume.
