Financial Aid

The Financial Aid program provides funding assistance through grants, loans and work-study programs for those who qualify. Students may apply for financial aid, even if they are receiving funding through other sources, such as veterans benefits. Eligibility is based on several factors such as annual income, size of household and institutional cost. There is no charge to pre-determine if you will qualify for federal financial aid, so we encourage service members to submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) right away.

Each institution has priority timelines for financial aid processing. Service members are encouraged to submit applications by the stated deadline. For Pierce College deadlines, refer to the Financial Aid page. If a deadline is missed, it does not mean that you have missed your opportunity. However, you will need to pay course fees/tuition out of pocket while your application is reviewed.

To get started with Financial Aid, follow these quick steps:

  1. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online/
  2. Submit a Pierce College Admissions Application.
  3. Check your student email and the Financial Aid Portal for important updates and information about other documents that may be required.
  4. Register and pay for classes.

Special Note: A FIP or TIP agreement will be required at the time of registration if your financial aid has not been awarded. This means you will be responsible for all course fees/tuition for the term included in the FIP or TIP.  Your financial aid will still be processed to determine your eligibility, even if you paid in full. Financial aid checks will be mailed to you.
