Active Duty Army Personnel Using TA

Register

Active Duty Army personnel using TA must enroll through the GoArmyEd Portal.

  1. Use the Pierce College at schedules to locate the GoArmyEd class number for the class you would like to take.
  2. Log in to your GoArmyEd Portal account.
  3. Click "Request TA".
  4. A pop up window should open to search for a class.
    1. 
Do not enter anything in the "Subject" field.

    2. Do not enter anything in the "Catalog Number" field.
  5. Copy and paste the GoArmyEd class number from the Pierce College at JBLM Army TA Schedules into the "GoArmyEd Class Number" field.
    1. 
Pierce College should automatically be populated in the "School" field.

    2. The start and end dates should automatically be populated in the date fields.
  6. Click "Search".
  7. Click "Request Class".
  8. Click "Process Request".

    1. If you must pay for any or all costs of the class, several statements appear stating you must pay. If you agree click "I Agree To Pay".
      Remember, TA does not pay for any fees including lab fees or online fees.
  9. Update/Verify account information.
  10. The View Results page appears. Review your schedule to ensure that the class you selected is listed. A message appears stating the class has been added to your schedule and a green checkmark appears in the Status column.
  11. Add another class or log out.

Add a Course

Be sure you are aware of registration dates located on the schedules.

  3. Click "Request TA".

Drop and Withdraw from a Course

Be sure you are aware of drop and withdraw dates located on the schedules.

The steps to drop and withdraw from a course are the same. Active Duty Army personnel using TA must drop or withdraw through the GoArmyEd Portal.

  1. Log in to your GoArmyEd Portal account.
  2. Click "Withdraw from a Class".
  3. The "Select Classes to Drop" pop up window should open.
  4. Select the checkbox in the "Select" field next to the class you want to drop.
  5. Select the "Drop Selected Class" button.
  6. The "Confirm Your Selection" screen appears

  7. Select the drop-down arrow in the "Action" field and select the appropriate action, either Withdrawal for Personal Reasons or Withdrawal for Military Reasons, and follow the appropriate steps below.


Withdrawal for Personal Reasons – Request to Withdrawal for Personal Reasons (non-military reasons)

  1. 
Select "Finish Dropping" to process your request.
  2. A pop-up message will appear if there is an Army cost associated with the drop/withdrawal. You will be responsible for repaying the Army that amount.
  3. Select the "OK" button to continue.


Withdrawal for Military Reasons – Request to Withdrawal for Military Reasons

Examples of military reasons include unanticipated military mission, emergency leave, death of a family member, illness/hospitalization, etc.

  1. 
Select "Finish Dropping" to process your request.
  2. A pop-up message will appear stating you must upload the signed request for "TA recoupment Waiver – Withdrawal for Military Reasons" form to your efile within 60 days.
 You will be responsible for repaying the Army that amount.
  3. 
Select the "OK" button to continue.
  4. Download the form, read and follow steps to withdrawal for military reasons

  5. Click "Finish Dropping" button.
  6. A message appears, stating you must upload a signed Request for TA Recoupment Waiver – Withdrawal for (WM) Military Reasons in eFile within 60 days of withdrawing from the class.

  7. Select the "OK" button.
  8. The View Results screen appears stating the class has been removed from your schedule.
 You are encouraged to print a copy of the page and retain it as a personal record.

A green checkmark appears showing a successful drop status.
  10. You will be placed on hold until the military withdrawal request is either approved or denied.
