In a recent article on CNNMoney.com, Pierce College was named the most successful community college in the state, based on the percentage of students who graduated or transferred to a four-year college.

College Measures, a joint venture of the American Institute of Research and Matrix Knowledge Group, created a chart for CNNMoney to help students choose the community college that will give them the best chance of succeeding at a four-year college or university. The chart ranks community colleges nationwide with more than 200 full-time freshmen. The chart lists each community college’s success rates, which are based on the percentage of students who graduated within three years or transferred to a four-year university.

According to the list, Pierce College Puyallup was ranked as the No. 1 most successful community college in Washington with a 67 percent success rate. Pierce College Fort Steilacoom is not far behind, capturing third place with a 58 percent success rate.
