Are you interested in careers in science, technology, engineering or math? Come out to Pierce College Puyallup’s first-ever STEM Town Hall discussion focusing on diversity within these career pathways.

The event takes place Thursday, Feb. 23 from 2-3:30 p.m. This panel discussion, organized by STEM Services Coordinator Christopher Davis, will feature talented STEM professionals from a variety of industries. Panelists include Kathryn Mahan, budget and fund development coordinator from Pierce Conservation District, Klondy Canales, program officer from Washington State Opportunity Scholarship, Christopher Peguero, environmental equity advisor for Seattle City Light, and Bill Dickens, senior economist from Tacoma Power.

The discussion will focus on the challenges and potential solutions to addressing diversity in STEM fields. “This is going to be a wonderful discussion about the future of STEM careers and programs at Pierce College,” Davis said. “The event will provide a great chance for students to become part of a larger discussion about diversity in STEM.
