Library Work Study Application Instructions

Thank you for your interest in a Student Employee (Work Study) position in the Pierce College Library. We are one Library in two locations: the Fort Steilacoom Campus Library and the Puyallup Campus Library. Our student employees are valuable to the library because they help us provide consistent, quality service.

Prior to applying for a job, students must confirm their federal/state work-study eligibility. You may work up to 19 hours a week; however, our students work 8–10 hours a week, so that they can earn their work-study award evenly over the quarter. Although most students work several quarters, employees are assessed at the end of each quarter in the areas of quality of work, communication/interaction, dependability, initiative, attitude and customer service.

We will review applications based on availability and those applicants who fit our needs will be selected for an interview. These instructions must be followed exactly. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Print in black/blue ink.
  • Complete the Student Schedule of Availability form completely.
  • Complete the “Class Schedule” portion by indicating the days/times when you are not available. Include all classes and recurring commitments/obligations outside of class time such as club meetings, community service, etc.
  • Submit a copy of your Financial Aid award letter with the application.
  • Attach a resume with the application.
