General Education Development (GED) tests are for those wishing to earn a GED certificate, which is equivalent to a high school diploma and meets most employment criteria and the educational eligibility requirement to receive federal financial aid for college. Cost is $120. All registrations and payments are done through the GED Testing Service or by calling 1-877-392-6433.

Schedule a GED Test

The GED test is now provided on computer only. GED Testing Service test-takers can register by one of the two following methods:

  • Visit the GED test-taker website.
    Create your account by entering basic demographic information (name, address, date of birth, etc.). Complete your registration by answering a series of required questions. Then access the website by entering your login name and password (provided after the account is created).
  • Call the GED Testing Service registration Call Center.
    You may phone the Call Center at 1-877-392-6433 Monday through Friday to speak to a scheduler.

After creating an account, you will be able to choose a location and the time that is best for you.

To take the test, you must make an appointment through GED Testing Service. No exceptions can be made.

Get Your GED Scores

  1. Login to your MyGED™ account.
  2. From the dashboard, select the scores tab.
  3. Click "View Details" to learn more about your score. You can find what your score means and how you can score higher, and if needed, how to retake the test.

Accommodations Approval Process

Register online for the GED® test. During the registration process, you will be asked about the need for accommodations. If you indicate a need for accommodations, you will be directed to the GEDTS accommodations website for instructions regarding applying for accommodations. Scheduling of an accommodated seat cannot take place until the accommodations approval process has been completed. Expect up to 30 days for review of the accommodations request.
