Julie A. White, Ph.D. (she/her)

Chancellor and CEO
Julie holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the University of Rochester, a Master in Counseling from Xavier University, and a Bachelor of Science in Education in English Literature from Miami University. She has served at a variety of institutions, including community colleges, liberal arts colleges, and research universities with roles in teaching, student services, academic administration, research administration, health education, and women's services. A first-generation student from a rural community, she is passionate about the role of community colleges in creating healthy, equitable, and thriving communities. She is currently a Presidents Fellow with the Aspen Institute's College Excellence Program. She joined Pierce College in 2019 as President of Fort Steilacoom. She became Chancellor in January of 2023.
Matthew A. Campbell, Ed.D. (he/him)

President, Pierce College Fort Steilacoom
Matt holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Temple University, a Master's in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Delaware. With more than 30 years in higher education, Matt is firmly committed to education's role in advancing racial and social justice, with a keen focus on community colleges and intentional, open engagement with data in order to achieve equitable access, opportunity, and success. Matt also completed the Aspen Institute's Presidential Fellowship for Community College Excellence, delivered in collaboration with the Stanford Educational Leadership Initiative. Prior to his current role, Matt served as the interim president of Pierce College Puyallup, where he also served as the vice president of learning & student success for nine years.
Maria del Rosario "Chio" Flores, Ph.D. (she/her/ella)

President, Pierce College Puyallup
Chio holds a Doctorate in Philosophy in Higher Education from Washington State University, a Master's and Bachelor of Business from Eastern Washington University, and an associate degree from Big Bend Community College. The power of education from G.E.D. to PhD is a testament to her educational journey and first-generation, migrant roots. Chio has over 40 years of experience in higher education in the state of Washington. She has worked at both community colleges and four-year regional and research institutions, serving in roles in which student access, success and completion were at the center of her work. Chio joined Pierce College as the President of Puyallup in June 2023.
Ilder Betancourt Lopez

Vice President, Learning and Student Success, Fort Steilacoom
Ilder is the son of Latino undocumented immigrants and grew up in Los Angeles. He feels blessed to have the education imparted by his parents and his community. In addition, he holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from University of Southern California (USC), and Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Psychology from Stanford University. He has had the privilege of working with and for community college students for over 15 years in Arizona, California, and now Washington. Throughout this time, he has been in various roles: classified employee, adjunct faculty, tenured faculty, department chair, dean, and vice president.
Yuritzi Lozano

Vice President, Learning and Student Success, Puyallup
Yuritzi is first generation Mexican immigrant and the daughter of migrant farmworkers. Through her upbringings she saw first-hand the inequities they experienced. This fueled her passion for education to remove barriers, create access, and support historically excluded populations. She has over 14 years of experience working in higher education from public, private, university, and community college settings. Currently, she is in pursuit of her doctoral degree at Oregon State University in Adult & Higher Education. Yuritzi holds two degrees from the University of Washington, a bachelor degree in International Studies and master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
Andrew Glass, MBA

Vice President, Technology and Infrastructure
Andrew holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Global (formerly Brandman University), a Bachelor of Arts in Business with a concentration in Human Resources from Western Washington University, and an Associate of Arts from Pierce College. Mr. Glass has 15 years' experience working in higher education technology and has worked at multiple community colleges. He worked at Pierce College from 2008-2016 and returned to Pierce College in 2021 as the Chief Information Officer and most recently the Vice President, Technology and Infrastructure.
Holly Gorski, MBA

Vice President, Fiscal Services
Holly holds a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University, a Bachelor of Arts in English from Westminster College of Salt Lake City, and a Certificate in Human Resource Management from the University of Washington Extension. Ms. Gorski has 25 years' experience working in Human Resources. She joined Pierce College in July 2013 as Vice President of Human Resources and has been serving as Vice President of Fiscal Services since October 2023.
Deena Forsythe, PHR

Vice President, Human Resources
Deena holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Global (formerly Brandman University) and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management from Western Washington University. She has 30 years of experience working in Human Resources and has held various positions within the human resources department at Pierce College since 1997.
Shawna Freeman Lane, Ed.D.

Vice President of Equity, Engagement, and Belonging
Shawna holds a doctor of education (EdD) degree in Education and Organizational Learning and Leadership from Seattle University, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Journalism from Augusta State University. With over 10 years of higher education teaching experience and professional development leadership, Shawna is dedicated to supporting student success through innovative, engaging, and inclusive practices. Shawna also serves as the Dean of Employee Learning and Development (ELAD)/eLearning. Prior to Pierce College, Shawna served as a tenured business faculty member, business department chair, and interim Associate Dean of Student Learning and Success at Highline College.
Allison Sieving, Ph.D.

Dean of Institutional Research
Allison holds a doctorate in biomedical engineering and a master’s degree in basic medical sciences from Wayne State University, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Bowling Green State University. She serves as the Dean of Institutional Research and Effectiveness at Pierce College, where she leads strategic planning, accreditation, and institutional research initiatives. She is the college’s Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Throughout her career, Allison has led student success initiatives, data-informed decision-making, curriculum and program innovation, and learning outcomes assessment. She is committed to advancing equity and belonging through strategies that support inclusive excellence and institutional effectiveness.
Jennifer Wolbrecht

Executive Director, Foundation
Jennifer earned a bachelor’s degree in Theatre/Dance (dance emphasis) with a specialization in Non-profit Management from Luther College in Decorah, IA. Jennifer also holds a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential and is currently in pursuit of a credential as a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving from University of California Long Beach. She has been involved in nonprofit work in the Pierce County area since 2003. She led the development and communications efforts for a wilderness retreat center in the mountains above Lake Chelan and worked for the Metropolitan Parks District of Tacoma.
Jennifer Wolbrecht returned to Pierce College in March 2024 as the Foundation Executive Director, after first serving as Director of Development from 2017-2019 and interim Executive Director from 2019-2020. She is dedicated to creating possibilities for students to realize their educational goals.
Marie Harris

Executive Director of Operations, Chancellor's Office
Marie holds a Bachelor of Allied Science in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from Pierce College and a Certificate in Project Management. She is a seasoned higher education professional with over 25 years of experience, dedicated to advancing student success and institutional leadership. Since 2005, she has served in various roles within the Chancellor’s Office, providing strategic support and driving mission-focused initiatives. Her work has supported both the Chancellor and the Governor-Appointed Board of Trustees, with a strong emphasis on equity, excellence, and student-centered decision-making. Her career reflects a deep commitment to the transformative power of education and the communities it serves.
