HYPE (Helping You Prepare for Employment)

HYPE is a series of quarterly events including professional development workshops and on-campus job fairs designed to support students in discovering and enhancing their professional skills, ultimately helping them reach their career aspirations. It allows students to connect with Pierce College staff and program management, providing valuable insights into the paid job opportunities available on campus.

Your Guide to Job Hunting in 2026 - March 4 and 5, 2026

Fort Steilacoom Campus, Cascade Building, 4th Floor Performance and Fireside Lounges: March 4, 2026, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

HYPE in connection with the Pierce College Career Center will present everything you need to know about job hunting, applying and interviewing in 2026.

Information sessions include:

  • AI - How and if you should use it and how employers use it.
  • Common mistakes interviewees make in virtual and traditional interviews and tips for a better interview.
  • Important best practices through the whole job seeking process
  • Insights from recruiters, hiring managers and current student employees that you won’t want to miss.

This is also your chance to get to know your resources here at Pierce College.

  • Work study - You’ve probably heard about it, but what does it mean? We will have a specialist available to help explain your award.
  • Work Source staff will be available to review your resume to help it survive those first looks from recruiters and hiring teams and to give valuable feedback about your interview skills.
