HYPE (Helping You Prepare for Employment)

HYPE is a series of quarterly events including professional development workshops and on-campus job fairs designed to support students in discovering and enhancing their professional skills, ultimately helping them reach their career aspirations. It allows students to connect with Pierce College staff and program management, providing valuable insights into the paid job opportunities available on campus.

Fall On Campus Student Job Fair and HYPE Presentation - Featuring Handshake

Come meet with campus departments and experts about student jobs!

We will have experts on work study, resume building, Handshake and on-campus jobs.

  • No prior job experience required!
  • No resume required (but feel free to bring yours if you have it)
  • All are welcome!

Student Job Presentation

The presentation will cover an introduction to the Handshake platform, a network for higher education institutions to help connect students to jobs on- and off-campus.

There will also be an overview of transferrable skills, sometimes called 'soft skills' or 'people skills', skills that come from places and experiences you least expect, but are applicable to every job to some extent. These are the skills that are most difficult for AI to replicate.
