The Pierce to UW Tacoma Dual Admission Program is a partnership between Pierce College and the University of Washington Tacoma (UW Tacoma).
Our goal is to ensure students experience a smooth, supported transfer experience for Pierce College students pursuing a bachelor’s degree. From day one at Pierce College, you’ll have access to UW Tacoma’s resources, dedicated advising, coaching, and mentoring, and a clear degree pathway.

How It Works
- Apply Once – Gain admission to both Pierce College and UW Tacoma at the start of your academic journey.
- Choose Your Pathway – Align your Pierce College career pathway and degree with your intended UW Tacoma major.
- Access Dual Resources – Gain early access to your UW Tacoma resources while still attending Pierce College.
- Stay on Track – Work with a dedicated Pierce to UW Tacoma Admissions Counselor to ensure you meet milestones.
- Smooth Transfer – No need to reapply to UW Tacoma when you finish your Pierce College degree, your spot is reserved.
How to Apply
- Complete the Pierce to UW Tacoma Dual Admission Program Interest Form.
- Select your intended major at UW Tacoma.
- Meet with your Pierce College advisor to confirm your pathway.
- Meet with your Pierce to UW Tacoma Admissions Counselor to discuss your transfer and gain access to events and activities at the University of Washington Tacoma.

Program Requirements
- Be admitted to Pierce College as a degree-seeking student.
- Intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree at UW Tacoma in an eligible major.
- Maintain 2.5 college-level GPA.
- Graduated high school or have a GED prior to completing the Pierce to UW Tacoma Dual Admission Program.
- Students in Running Start are not eligible for Pierce to UW Tacoma Dual Admission Program but may receive transfer counseling from the Pierce to UW Tacoma Admissions Counselor.
