What Is Annual Enrollment?

Annual enrollment lets you register for classes across the entire academic year - summer, fall, winter, and spring.

All students can register for a full year, including current students, new students, and Running Start. Planning ahead helps you build a schedule that fits your life.

Course Availability

Pierce College monitors class demand and works to make sure students can access the courses they need.

We regularly:

  • Review full classes and waitlists each week.
  • Add new class sections when possible. New sections are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Connect you with advisors who can help plan your schedule.

No. Tuition deadlines stay the same. You will not pay for future classes until tuition is due for that term.

You can register for one term at a time.

If you’d like to build a plan that fits your schedule, be sure to meet with your advisor early. You can make an appointment through the Advising Appointments web page.

Yes.

  • Before a term starts: You can update your schedule anytime.
  • After the term begins: You can change your schedule during the add/drop period, which is usually the first week of classes. Changes after that may not be allowed, or require permission.

You can join the waitlist or register for the class if it’s offered in a future term. We review enrollment and waitlists often and may open new sections when demand is high and classroom space and instructors are available. If new sections open, waitlisted students will be notified.

Waitlist Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

If we cannot add more seats, advisors will be informed so they can help you find options.

You will be dropped from the later class that requires the prerequisite.

Annual Enrollment for Military-Connected Students, Running Start, Basic Education and English as a Second Language (ESL)

Each branch of service has different timelines on when you can submit a TA request.

Your first step is to connect with your local education counselor or virtual education center. They can help answer questions about TA eligibility and steps to requesting TA.

Once you have your TA eligibility confirmed, you will:

  1. Register for your class(es) with Pierce College using the ctcLink portal, and
  2. Submit your TA request in your service branch portal system for each class

It is important to complete both of these steps to activate your TA.  Missing a step could result in a balance you have to pay out of pocket, or delay your enrollment with Pierce College.

The TA rules vary by branch of service and can change at any time.  Generally speaking, TA requests are required a minimum of 7 days prior to the start of a term/session, but can be as far out as 60+ days.  Stay apprised of the rules for your service branch by visiting with your education center, reading messages in your military portal or accessing online resources.

Your first step is to visit the MyCAA website and complete their application process. Once this is done, you will need to obtain an education plan from Pierce College to submit to MyCAA.  They will issue an approval and tuition voucher, which you will use to pay for the MyCAA approved classes.

You may register for classes before you receive your MyCAA approval. However, if your classes are not approved you will need to be prepared to pay the balance owed using an alternative funding method or drop your classes by the published 100% refund date for the session.
