Pierce College is proud to welcome Patti Belle to its Board of Trustees. A longtime Pierce County resident and dedicated public servant, Belle brings to the board more than two decades of experience in communications, civic leadership, and community engagement. Her career reflects a deep commitment to building inclusive, accessible institutions that strengthen opportunity and reflect the communities they serve.
Belle currently serves as Deputy Mayor of Lakewood, having first been appointed to the Lakewood City Council in 2021 and selected by her colleagues for the deputy mayor role in January 2026. Throughout her tenure, she has been an advocate for cultural diversity, the arts, public safety, and sustainable economic growth. Her leadership is grounded in listening to residents, amplifying community voices, and ensuring transparent, responsive governance.

I look forward to supporting the high-quality, accessible education offered at Pierce College that strengthens families and communities across Pierce County.”
Belle’s career includes more than eight years with The Tacoma News Tribune, followed by senior communications roles in the public sector. She currently serves as Communications Manager in the Mayor’s Office at the City of Kent, in addition to serving as the Lakewood City Council liaison to the Lakewood Arts Commission and serving on the board of the Washington Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors.
