Online Job Board: Handshake

Handshake is a simple tool for posting open jobs, work-study positions, internships, and company information. It is free, easy to use, and doesn't limit job postings by word counts. Handshake is used by local and national colleges and universities making it easy for employers to post in one location and reach a broader audience in one move. The Career Center reviews each employer and job prior to approval for posting.

Campus Recruiting

This is an informal set-up where employers who are actively recruiting for positions that align with our Career Pathways are set up in one of our common areas and can have more direct conversations with students. Employers may request one day per campus per term at no charge, but they must receive approval first. We typically schedule employers mid-October through May.

Submit a Request

Please email JCC@pierce.ctc.edu at least four weeks ahead of when you would like to visit along with the desired campus, proposed day, and positions recruiting for.

Spring Employment Fair

This annual job fair event features local employers who are actively recruiting for positions that align with Pierce College’s Career Pathways. This event is open to all Pierce College students, alumni, and community members! Employers register through Handshake.

Work-Study

The work-study program enables local employers to hire eligible students. For students, these opportunities are offered as part of their financial aid package, allowing themselves to support themselves and their families through their educational journey.

  • Partial wage reimbursements of up to 70 percent of student wages.
  • Potentially save on future recruitment and hiring costs if student employees are retained after graduation.

To learn more, visit Work-Study information for employers.

Hire an Intern

An internship is considered an extension of the classroom where students can observe real-world practices, participate in activities, and receive feedback from their site supervisor. Specific learning objectives, set number of hours, or other class-specific requirements may be necessary. An internship may be paid, for credit, or both. In general, an internship is usually for one term but may last longer.

Employers can post internship opportunities in Handshake.
