The Washington State Community College Consortium for Study Abroad (WCCCSA) offers programs abroad that typically last four weeks to a full quarter. These experiences combine academic learning with cultural immersion, giving you the chance to explore new places, meet amazing people, and earn college credit along the way.

WCCCSA programs are open to students age 17 and older (some programs may require you to be 18). Contact our Campus Coordinator, Jacque Courduff, at StudyAbroad@pierce.ctc.edu to start your application.

Upcoming WCCCSA Programs (Quarter Length)

  • Fall 2026 - Dublin, Ireland- Study in one of Europe’s most welcoming and literary cities. All courses taught in English, including literature, writing, and Irish culture
  • Fall 2026 – Japan - Study in Miyazaki, a coastal city rich in Japanese culture, history, and natural beauty. Courses include Japanese language, literature, and creative writing, with excursions to Tokyo and Osaka.
  • Spring 2027 – Florence, Italy - Live and study in the birthplace of the Renaissance, surrounded by world-famous art and architecture. Combine classroom learning with Italian language, culture, and field-based experiences throughout Florence.
  • Fall 2027 – Lisbon, Portugal - Study in one of Europe’s most vibrant and affordable coastal capitals. Experience Portuguese culture, history, and daily life while earning college credit in a dynamic international setting.

How to Apply

  • Be enrolled at a participating Washington community college
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5
  • At least 12 college credits completed
  • Be 18+ (exceptions may apply)
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one

Application Steps

  1. Contact your campus WCCCSA coordinator at StudyAbroad@pierce.ctc.edu
  2. Complete the preliminary application
  3. Submit transcript, two recommendations, and a short essay (700–1000 words)
  4. Pay the program deposit
