Meet Your International Advisors at Pierce College

At Pierce College, we want to help you succeed, inside and outside the classroom! Our advisors are here to support you during your time as a student. Below are the types of advisors you’ll meet in the International Education department and how they can help you.

Academic Advisors

Academic Advisors help you plan your studies and support your success at Pierce College.

They can help you with:

  • Choosing and registering for classes
  • Changing your schedule (if needed)
  • Understanding your degree or program requirements
  • Tips for communicating with instructors and using online resources
  • Finding resources both on and off campus (like tutoring, the library, or student services)
  • Support for stress management and well-being (including referrals to professional counselors)
  • Housing and insurance questions
  • Guidance on transferring to another college or university after Pierce College

We have two friendly Academic Advisors who work with international students:

  • Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or by appointment)
Jacque Courduff

  • Appointments: Email or visit the international office in the Cascade building
  • Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. (or by appointment)

SEVIS Manager (International Student Advisor)

Our SEVIS Advisor works with international students to help with immigration and visa rules. SEVIS stands for Student and Exchange Visitor Information System—this advisor helps you follow the rules for your student visa.

They can help you with:

  • Visa questions or problems
  • Maintaining your F-1 status
  • I-20 updates
  • Travel signatures
  • Vacation quarter requests and questions
  • Transferring your SEVIS record
  • Applying for work permission like:
    • OPT (Optional Practical Training)
    • CPT (Curricular Practical Training)
