Legal Resources and Tax Support
- Pierce College Title IX Office
- Title IX is a federal civil right that prohibits gender-based discrimination. Protections from gender-based and sex-based discrimination are extended to all people on campus regardless of their real or perceived sex, gender identity or gender expression. The Title IX Coordinator and/or the VP for Human Resources can address faculty, staff and student concerns related to sexual harassment, sexual assault and other actions that fall within the college's obligations under Title IX.

- Provides free and low-cost mediation services to eligible persons in areas of housing, workplace, small-claims, and more.

- Free legal services for Black and Indigenous Communities, centers Black trans women and femmes.
- Northwest Justice Project (NJP) CLEAR Hotline
- Provides free coordinated legal education, advice, and referrals for eligible callers.

- List of organizations that address a variety of legal needs to Pierce County residents.
- Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association
- Provides callers with legal resources. For those who can pay to hire an attorney, a 30-minute consultation will be scheduled for a fee.
- Washington Law Help
- Offers basic guidance on how to pursue a variety of legal areas such as family, work, housing, and more.
- Human Rights Commission
- Investigates discrimination in areas of employment, housing, accommodation, and credit and insurance issues. Gives resources for support in these areas.
- Fair Housing Center of Washington
- Addresses unlawful housing discrimination in Western and Central Washington.
- Northwest Justice Project
- Gives free legal assistance in areas of housing, healthcare, education, income security and more. Eviction support available.
- Tacoma Pro Bono/Housing Justice Project - Eviction Prevention
- Provides advice and support for those who have been served eviction notices.
- Pierce County Eviction Protection
- Helps eligible households pay past due rent and may help pay current and future rent.

- An interactive tool that provides legal information based on what interaction you are stopped by the police.

- Northwest Community Bail Fund (NCBF)
- Provides bail assistance for those facing pre-trial detention due to the inability to pay. Focuses on standing between those most vulnerable to abuse by systems of policing and therefore prioritize assistance for non-white and non-cisgender people.

- Offers free tax help to people who generally make $55,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance preparing their own tax returns.
