The Writing Center

The Writing Center can help you with:
  • Idea development
  • Paper organization
  • Research methods
  • Proper use of citations
  • Critical thinking development

The Writing Center is a free service with an open-door policy. We welcome all people. We help students who are working on particular assignments. Additionally, people who want a quiet place to write, read or study are welcome, too. Our trained writing tutors are available to help with all types of writing projects and assignments. Writing tutors can assist in all phases of a project, from helping students generate ideas to helping with final edits.

Writing help is available any time we're open. Drop-ins are welcome, but students can also schedule appointments to meet with tutors. Services are available to all students, regardless if you're just learning English, starting your college career, or fine-tuning a graduate thesis. We're here to help everyone.

Additionally, a number of resources in the Writing Center are available for students to use. These include dictionaries, thesauruses, handbooks, style guides, and grammar books. There are also free handouts that provide general assistance with preparing an essay, researching papers, writing a thesis, providing correct documentation, using standard grammar and punctuation, writing resumes, and completing application essays.

Don't let writer's block stop you. Come in, take a seat, get a writing partner, and let the writing start.
