Emergency Management
The Pierce College Emergency Management program is taught by experts from around our region and across the country. You will learn to prepare your community for disasters and how to recover from them if they happen. The program was recently recognized as one of the 10 best Bachelor’s Degrees in Emergency Management by CollegeRank. Every student gets hands-on experience in the field through an internship or capstone project. Generous transfer credits and credit for industry training are allowed, so you might be closer to earning a degree than you think!

Emergency Management Degrees and Certificates
- Emergency Management Certificate
- 24 credits, which can be completed in as few as 2 terms. Eligible for Military Service to Education funding.
- Tribal Emergency Management Certificate
- 24 credits, which can be completed in as few as 3 terms.
- Healthcare Emergency Management Certificate
- 13 credits, which can be completed in just 1 term or as many as 3. Can easily be added to any healthcare or EM pathway.
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS-T) in Emergency Management
- 93 credits, which can be completed full-time in as few as 6 terms, or part-time for several years.
- Disaster Risk Management Certificate
- 20 credits, which can be completed in 2 terms (requires completion of an associate degree prior to admission).
- * Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Emergency Management
- 90 credits, in addition to an existing associate degree, for a total of 180 credits. Can be completed full-time in 2 years or part-time in 3 years.
