New Student Orientation and Advising
We understand college can be scary, especially for new students. We're here to help. At both main Pierce College campuses, you'll find helpful, friendly staff that can help you choose your classes, chart your education or career path, and assist you through the registration process.
New Student Orientation is required for all new students seeking a degree or certificate from Pierce College. The New Student Orientation sessions are an easy, convenient way for you to get all the information you need to start your education. You will connect with our Student Ambassadors, curriculum advisors, and faculty counselors. Students who are planning to register for fewer than five credits or who are not seeking a degree or certification from Pierce College, do not need to attend an orientation. Sessions are offered on a regular basis.
New Student Orientation
After attending orientation, you will schedule an appointment with an advisor. Your advisor will review your educational goals, discuss course options, walk you through the online registration process, and provide your registration access code (RAC), which allows you to register online. You should have activated your Pierce College student email account as it is the official means of communication with students.
If you have attended another college, don't forget to request an official transcript prior to attending an orientation. Once Pierce College has received your transcript, complete and submit a Request for Credit Evaluation of Courses from Other Institutions. Bring an unofficial transcript to your orientation session and advising appointment.
Former Pierce College students who haven't attended an orientation session are encouraged to attend one.
Once you've attended New Student Orientation, attended an advising session, and received your registration access code (RAC), you are ready to register online at your assigned time using Student Online Services. You also can register in person at either campus.
