Pierce College is proud to be named Washington’s top four-year college for veterans by The Military Times. The Best for Vets: Colleges 2020 rankings is an annual school-by-school assessment of veteran and military student services and rates of academic achievement. The Military Times ranked Pierce College No. 25 in the nation – and the highest-ranking four-year college in the state.

Institutions of higher education across the United States were invited to fill out a detailed survey of 150 questions, focusing on operations involving current and former service members and their families. The Military Times evaluated survey responses based on five categories: university culture, student support, academic policies, academic outcomes/quality and cost and financial aid.

Pierce College was included in the four-year college rankings list due to our five bachelor of applied science degrees.

“We’re honored to have received this recognition once again,” said Pierce College at Joint Base Lewis-McChord Executive Director Mark Haskins. “Since we are among the Top 50 schools for serving active duty students and have the largest military-affiliated student population in Washington state, being named to the Best for Vets list is not optional for Pierce College. Making the list shows we are meeting mission in an exemplary way for these students. It’s great to have the Military Times affirm what the Aspen Institute also highlighted in recognizing Pierce College as a Top 5 community college in the nation.”
