The Pioneer, the student publication of Pierce College Fort Steilacoom since 1974, started out as a newspaper. This year is the first year in magazine format and is published once a month during fall, winter and spring quarters and is the heart of the college's journalism program.
Students earn college journalism credits while receiving practical experience in writing and reporting, editing, photography, advertising or desktop publishing. Several grads are now full-time reporters, and numerous students have been placed in internships and part-time employment.
The Puyallup Post
The Puyallup Post is published at Puyallup three times a quarter during fall, winter and spring quarters. The newspaper covers issues on the growing campus to keep students, staff and faculty informed. The Puyallup Post offers numerous opportunities for students to work or volunteer on the newspaper staff.
