Five Steps for Veterans to Get Started At Pierce

Welcome! Thank you for choosing Pierce College to pursue your education.

Please follow these five steps to complete your admission/registration process. Please note the registration processes differ at Pierce College and at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Visit the Pierce College at JBLM website for additional details.

Step 1: Application

You can apply for admissions online via Pierce College Admissions. Once your application is processed, you will receive an email with additional information.

Step 2: Pay for College

Even if you are receiving VA educational benefits, you may be eligible for additional financial aid. Apply for financial aid by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is available online at the Financial Aid website.

Step 3: Assessment

Complete a placement assessment to determine the best English, math and reading classes for you. For more information, please visit the Pierce College Testing Center.

Step 4: New Student Orientation and Advising

At the New Student Orientation, you will learn what it's like to be a Pierce College student. You will hear about available resources and support services, meet other new students, and receive information on how to make an appointment with your advisor. New Student Orientation is mandatory for all degree/certificate-seeking students.

Step 5: Payment

After orientation, you will meet with your advisor and register for classes. Once you’ve registered, please contact the Veterans Services Office to have your benefits certified and submitted to the VA for payment. It is important that you pay your tuition and fees before the deadline. If you fail to do so, you will be dropped from your classes with no guarantee of getting the same schedule. Pierce College offers several payment options for paying for classes.
