STAT Design Studio
The Design Studio provides students with resources for their various class-related design and production needs. The Fort Steilacoom studio is located in the library on the fourth floor in room CAS405.
The center is funded through student technology fees and is open to all Pierce College students. A STAT Media and Design Tech is available to answer questions and complete design requests.
What Can I Do in the Design Studio?
The studio is equipped with computers (PC and Mac), that have creative programs like the Adobe suite and Autodesk Maya installed for student use to create digital designs and provides a chill atmosphere to study and create in.
The Media and Design Techs are available during all open hours to assist students with the design programs as well as equipment such as microphones, tripods, greenscreens, and lighting equipment. They also provide peer feedback and assistance to students enrolled in a variety of classes that use multimedia, such as Digital Filmmaking, Digital Design, ASL, Photography, and Theatre as well as many other classes in which multimedia projects are required.
Current students and staff can also request simple design projects such as flyers, stickers, Glowforge designs, and more. The Media and Design techs will work with the requester to understand and create the project.
A recording studio is also available inside the Fort Steilacoom location. Inside you’ll find various software and hardware for producing and engineering music and video.
You can book one-on-one design tutoring or reserve time in the recording booth online.
